Dear MCPASD Families,
As you likely know, the district will begin the school year all-virtual. As part of our commitment to equity, we want to help ensure that all MCPASD students can engage and succeed in virtual learning.
The Education Foundation is supporting an initiative to help provide devices to MCPASD families who can’t afford internet access. We’re reaching out to see if you may like to contribute to this effort.
Virtual Access for All
As an urban, suburban and rural district, we have unique challenges with internet connectivity. In addition, our marginalized communities are disproportionately affected by the COVID-19 financial pinch. These are among the factors making it challenging for our students in need to engage in virtual learning. The district estimates that 200 MCPASD families need assistance with MiFi internet access devices and Chromebooks.
How to Help
We need to raise $50,000 to support virtual access for our students in need. We’re pleased to share that we received an anonymous $25,000 gift in support of this effort! We’re halfway to our goal, and we ask you to consider donating to help us reach it. To contribute, click here and include “Virtual Access” in the notes to designate your donation.
Please check to see if your employer is among the companies matching employee contributions to charitable causes related to COVID-19. The Education Foundation is a qualified 501c3 (Tax ID: 47-5618597).
We deeply appreciate your support of our students in need during these challenging times.
