The Education Foundation is pleased to host Bloom, an evening benefitting MCPASD schools, on March 12 at the Marriott West Hotel.
NBC 15 news anchor Leigh Mills will emcee the event, which will raise funds for books for diverse classroom libraries at MCPASD schools. Proceeds will be shared across the district.
“We are one of the fastest growing districts in Dane County, and as the district’s student clientele continues to diversify with respect to ethnicity and race, we need to expand the book selections in our classroom libraries so that all students see their cultures reflected in the books they read,” explained Purna Byraiah, chair of the Foundation. “We know that strong literacy skills are the gateway to future success, and we want all our students to be confident and competent readers.”
“It will be an evening of cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and desserts along with entertainment and live and silent auctions,” added Kristin Jungbluth, Foundation board member and Bloom co-chair. “We’re excited to host our first district-wide fundraiser, and we’re grateful to the local businesses that are providing sponsorships and auction donations.”
Bloom will be held at the Marriott West Hotel at 1313 John Q Hammons Drive. Doors open at 6 p.m. on March 12.
Tickets are $50 and can be purchased online at https://Bloom20.givesmart.com.
