The Education Foundation is pleased to announce Amber Kiggens-Leifheit as its executive director. Kiggens-Leifheit’s part-time role will focus on leading the organization into its next phase of growth.
She will be responsible for strategic planning, in partnership with the Board of Education and district administrators, as well as managing fundraising and development efforts, and public relations. She begins in her role on Jan. 6, 2020.
Prior to joining the Education Foundation, Kiggens-Leifheit served as executive director of the Marshfield Area Community Foundation for 11 years. She was responsible for all areas of the Foundation, including gifts, grants, scholarships, public relations, donor relations, accounting oversight and office management. During her tenure, she grew the Foundation’s assets from $2.8 to $16.2 million.
Kiggens-Leifheit also served on the Marshfield district’s school board for nine years, including in the roles of vice president and treasurer. In addition, she has served in leadership positions and volunteered in long-term with multiple nonprofits, including the Marshfield Community Athletics Leadership Team and the Marshfield Area United Way. She earned a bachelor’s degree from University of Wisconsin-Madison.
“We’re excited to welcome Amber,” said Purna Byraiah, chair of the Foundation. “The experience and leadership she brings will be invaluable as we partner with community members and businesses to invest in our schools.”
The Education Foundation recently concluded its 2019 annual appeal, raising more than $77,000 to fund programs in three areas – Arts, Equity and Grow Your Own – as well as award grants to staff and scholarships to graduating seniors. The Foundation has two endowments with the Madison Community Foundations totaling approximately $325,000.
