The Education Foundation is pleased to sponsor musical arts performances at Kromrey and Glacier Creek middle schools on Dec. 19. As part of the Foundation’s equity and inclusion in the arts initiative, all middle school students will have an opportunity to attend a performance featuring three local artists: Kobby Brewoo, Prenicia Clifton and Mena Williams.
Brewoo is a dancer, choreographer and CEO of The Hitterz Collective. Clifton is a world-renowned opera singer with a specialty in Mandarin Opera and director of University of Wisconsin–Madison’s Precollege/Youth Protection and Compliance. Williams is a Middleton High School graduate and the winner of Overture’s Rising Stars 2018 (Adult Division).
As part of the artists’ performances, they will share what inspired them to pursue musical arts. They will also describe their paths during and after high school.
The Foundation is sponsoring four performances – two during the morning at Kromrey, and two during the afternoon at Glacier Creek. The Education Foundation thanks CUNA Mutual Group for funding the grant in support of these performances.
“We’re hosting performances for middle school students to inspire them to pursue music in high school and beyond,” explained Purna Byraiah, chair of the Foundation. “We want to encourage all our students to be involved in our schools’ musical arts programs. We’re excited to feature a variety of artists to emphasize how everyone’s path is unique.”
