The Education Foundation thanks all the donors, campaign sponsors and local employers who contributed to the annual campaign and raised $77,597 for MCPASD schools!
“We’re thrilled community members and businesses are partnering with us to invest in MCPASD schools,” said Purna Byraiah, chair of the Foundation. “We greatly appreciate all the individuals, campaign sponsors and local employers supporting our schools. Their support will be crucial as our district continues to grow.”
Individuals’ donations were supplemented by matching gifts from campaign sponsors – Galin Education, Keva Sports Center and SwimWest – and local employers that matched their employees’ donations, including American Family Insurance, CUNA Mutual Group, Gallagher Global, Johnson Controls, MilliporeSigma, Nelnet and UBS. In addition, a fourth campaign sponsor matched donations made to the Weekend Food Program.
Funds raised will support three areas – Arts, Equity and Grow Your Own – based on the school district’s priorities for the year. The Education Foundation sponsors programming in these areas, in addition to funding staff grants and scholarships for graduating seniors.
“We sponsored the Minority Student Achievement Network (MSAN) national student conference that 20 students and 5 staff members from MCPASD attended in October,” explained Luke Fuszard, vice chair of the Foundation. “In December, we will sponsor musical performances at Kromrey and Glacier Creek middle schools in support of our equity in the arts initiative.”
The performances will feature Kobby Brewoo, dancer, choreographer and CEO of The Hitterz Collective; Prenicia Clifton, world-renowned opera singer with a specialty in Mandarin Opera and director of University of Wisconsin–Madison’s Precollege/Youth Protection and Compliance; and Mena Williams, Middleton High School graduate and winner of Overture’s Rising Stars 2018 (Adult Division).
In addition, the Education Foundation raises funds for the Weekend Food Program, which provides small meals and snacks each Friday for nearly 200 MCPASD students in need.
The fundraiser ended Nov. 15, but the Education Foundation accepts contributions year-round. Donations can be made online at using the “Donate Now” button or mailed to 6907 University Ave. #243, Middleton WI 53562.
