The Education Foundation is announcing a fundraising milestone: $10,000 have been raised since the annual campaign began on Oct. 1. This unlocks two $5,000 matching gifts from campaign sponsors – Galin Education, Keva Sports Center and SwimWest – and brings the total raised to $20,000.
“We needed to raise $5,000 to unlock our first matching gift, and we’re thrilled to unlock two this early in our campaign,” said Purna Byraiah, chair of the Foundation. “We’re so fortunate to have the support of a community that strongly values education as well as a commitment from our matching sponsors.”
Each sponsor agreed to match donors’ gifts, up to $5,000, for contributions made by the campaign deadline of Nov. 15. In addition, a fourth sponsor is matching donations, up to $4,000, made to the Weekend Food Program by Oct. 31.
The campaign goal is to raise $40,000 to support three areas: Arts, Equity and Grow Your Own. The focus areas are based on the school district’s priorities for the year.
The Foundation’s annual campaign page includes more details about how funds will support the district’s schools. When making a donation, donors can also designate funds for the Weekend Food Program, which provides healthy snacks and small meals for MCPASD children in need.
