Annual Fundraising Campaign: Matching Gifts for the Weekend Food Program



The MCPASD Education Foundation is announcing a fourth sponsor for its annual fundraising campaign: a generous community member will match all donations, up to $4,000, made to the Weekend Food Program by Oct. 31.

The Weekend Food Program provides healthy snacks and small, easy-to-prepare meals for MCPASD children in need. The program is supporting nearly 190 MPCASD students this school year. It’s free to all students in the district’s six elementary schools and at Glacier Creek and the Middleton Youth Center, which Kromrey students can attend after school.

Food is sent home with children in bags on Fridays during much of the school year. The first round of food distribution for the 2019-2020 school year was last week.

The program is a collaborative effort between five churches – St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, St. Martin’s Lutheran Church, Middleton Community Church and West Middleton Lutheran Church – and the MCPASD.

The Education Foundation deeply appreciates the generosity of the community member, who would like to remain anonymous, who is matching gifts to the Weekend Food Program. To have your donation to the Weekend Food Program matched, please donate online or via mail by Oct. 31.

$6.60 buys a bag of weekend food for 1 student

$113 ensures that 1 student will receive a bag every week for a semester

$225 covers 1 student for the entire school year

To donate online, please note that your contribution is for the Weekend Food Program in the text box through PayPal. To contribute via mail, please send a check made out to the MCPASD Education Foundation to the District Services Center, 7106 South Ave., Middleton. Please include Weekend Food Program in the memo line.

In the past two years, the Education Foundation raised more than $15,000 for the program.
