The MCPASD Education Foundation was honored to award five scholarships to graduating MHS seniors on Scholarship Night at the Performing Arts Center on May 15.
We are happy to announce Jesse Kenneth Castellanos-Martinez as one of two winners of a $1,850 Future Scholars Scholarship.
Castellanos-Martinez is considering studying architecture or interior design at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
Castellanos-Martinez has excelled in academics, athletics and service to the community. As a senior, he was recognized for outstanding scholastic performance by being named Middleton Optimist Club’s Student of the Month in November. He also played varsity soccer and is a member of the Key Club, a student-led community service organization. During his sophomore and junior years, he was an assistant youth basketball coach for the YMCA.
Castellanos-Martinez will be a first-generation college student.
The Future Scholars Scholarship supports the education goals of ambitious youth who have demonstrated perseverance to pursue post-secondary schooling. Scholarship criteria include evidence of economic hardship, being part of an underrepresented minority group at Middleton High School and pursuing post-secondary education at an accredited institution.
Please join the Education Foundation in congratulating Castellanos-Martinez on his scholarship and in wishing him all the best as he continues his education!Tags: MCPASD, Middleton, Optimist Club, soccer, YMCA
